Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh, November 2019

In November, my friend Marine invited us to go to a Fashion Show in her beloved city of Phnom Penh. So Lucie and I joined her on this 3-day weekend in this city I didn’t know.

A tiny tuk tuk

The chic lobby

The hotel near The French High School

We booked one serviced appartment for 2 nights and our friend Marine who has lived in the city for 7 years in her teenagehood helped her booked a very chic one, located next to the French High School. It has a large swimming pool and we all had our own bedroom with a giant living room we almost didn’t use. We spent the first night at Marine’s parents friends who have a beautiful house and we had much fun.

Entrance of the shop

On the next day, we chilled at the swimming pool before heading to Ambre, the fashion shop of Romyda, Marine’s favourite designer who was also the one to organise the fashion show on the upcoming evening. There are so many nice clothes there it was hard to not buy everything. I finally bought only 2, the blue dress and the black romper I would wear for the show.

Entrance of the Rosewood

My favourite fish curry

Rosewood and Spa

After this morning of shooping we headed to the Rosewoof for a refreshing lunch. I had my favourite dish which I also had in Siem Reap earlier this year which is white fish in a creamy sauce with curry and coconut. Then we went to have a massage in a nice spa in the city before getting prepared for the night – what a tiring day, I could do this everyday don’t you?

The fashion show

The fashion show and the party were amazing and they happened in one of the official public buildings of the capital! We even happened to see the king of Cambodia… Lucky us. After the cocktail, we went for a dinner organised by the Designer and her team and then clubbing and dancing all night. Pretty fun!

Chilling in the country side

The last day was dedicated to chilling by the pool and in a fabulous house of the Designer, located a little bit further from the bustling city center. Food was great and chilling vibes with this particular Cambodia sunlight made that day memorable.

A bustling city with not many cultural attractions. However the ambiance are vibes are great and the climax of the fashion show was something memorable!
