October 2018: Chic Countryside

Oct 10, 2018

Hi everyone,

My favourite month of the year has arrived and I’ve welcomed October and its sunny and dry days with much enthusiasm. To celebrate this and my birthday (yes- that’s why it’s my favourite month of the year 😉) I bought new wonderful pieces and I am glad to feature them here today for you with this Chic Countryside outfit.

Dress

The theme of this summer was flowers and bohemian, and I thought this dress was the perfect combination of those. I found it in a small shop in Marseille. I especially like how it is oversized and the elegant cleavage. You can find a similar one on these websites: ASOS and Farfetch for a more expensive option.

Jewels: Jemocracy

Every time I met my friend Jun, whether it was for a dinner or for a party, she was wearing amazing jewels. That’s how I discovered the Jemocracy brand: very elegant and easy to wear. Their concept focuses around jewellery for active-corporate-trendy women. They have a funny yet serious online store, and if you are in Hong Kong, you can also request a private viewing to try jewels on. The founders are lovely and we spent a great morning with them discovering their collections. Here, I wear the ‘out of answers’ necklace and two ‘positive outlook’ rings.

I also indulged myself with this ‘no brainer’ ring I was not wearing the day of the photo shoot.

Purse

Obviously, this year again the trend was straw bags, any colour, any shape! I found this lovely bag in a small shop called ‘Drex Fable’ in Causeway Bay for a ridiculous price. There is also a shop in Sheung Wan. For the end of our ‘Indian Summer’, it is perfect. It has 3 pockets and the size is just as big as needed.

Sandals

After going to the Net a Porter event last month (thanks again to Marie for the invite!), we enjoyed a discount on their website. A great opportunity to try the site and the customer experience. I ordered these ATP Atelier sandals in gold. I wanted a pair of flat shoes, opened and easily wearable with both my corporate (yes I’m working in a startup 😉) and my weekend styles. Besides an email where a customer service representative gave me the size of clothes instead of shoes, everything went smoothly. The order arrived quickly and I did all my shopping through their mobile app. The package was really nice and elegant and I’m very satisfied with the quality of the product.
