Cecilia, Soft-Casual

Hong Kong-born and raised, Cecilia is now working in the luxury sector and likes to wear easy-going pieces that match her daily style in the busy city.

Describe your style:

I think I have a cool and quite girly style. I’m keen on classic clothes, and sometimes I like old-fashioned accessories, kind of vintage style even if I still following the new trends. It is just touches of ‘vintage’ and not full style (it would be very weird and too much to wear nowadays). On the opposite, I can’t wear very girly or cute things, it is just too much for me.

Your favourite fashion shop(s) and/or brand(s):

I think I can say Zara. I also like to have a look at some clothes at InCiti Shopping Center and sometimes at Maple. I also go at Healey Building shopping centre and I like wandering in small street shops. Recently, I also bought one Tory Burch shoulder bag to reward my hardworking. I know this brand with my brother who lives in the USA and who offered me one wallet of this brand. And I really like Chanel lipstick and Dior nail lacquer for cosmetics. For perfume, Daisy from Marc Jacobs is the first and only perfume I have since I started to work.

Your favourite outfit at the moment:

For winter time I like to feel comfortable and warm in a wool dress, very ‘fluffy’ and often loose. As you can see, the first outfit featured here is composed of a warm scarf made from wool (and by me)! The pattern is not consistent (otherwise it is too boring) which gives the outfit a cool style and I like to pair it with casual sneakers.

Your dream-outfit or fashion accessory?

I love the Chanel brand because of its classic style. One of my favourite is their timeless black and white outfit. Even the earrings are so simple and classic and so nice. It makes me feel I’m back in the 30s or the early stage of the 20th Century and I love the style back to this time.

Something you will never wear:

I don’t like wearing bright green things. It’s like wearing fluorescent colors, it just attracts too much the eyes on you.

Your beauty secret:

I am always wearing earrings, I have a lot of different pairs, especially many cool and funny ones (I am wearing the pair ‘Happy’ today). I always lost one earring, so I wear different ones on both ears. In general, I prefer personal and tailored accessories.

Your favourite restaurant in Hong Kong?

There is a Chinese restaurant in Wan Chai, with excellent dim sum called Fu Sing Shark Fin Seafood Restaurant 富聲魚翅海鮮酒家

Your favourite destination in Asia and your best souvenir there:

Korea! I’ve been to Seoul and I love most of the Korean food. In the beginning, I was attracted by the Korean style and pop culture but now I am more into their history and culture. For example, their traditional dresses and costumes are so pretty. They have unique things such as stuff coming from Chinese people but with their own twist.

Your favourite place in Hong Kong?

I would say the area where I live: Yuen Long. There were many different farms in the surrounded villages, for example, pigs, cows, chicken and ducks farms… I remember my childhood, I was always running in and outside the farm with my brothers. It is where I grew up so I have an emotional connection to the district. It is rural areas with less tall buildings. I also like Tin Shui Wai (even if it is quite residential) because they are quiet and safe and with more outdoor areas that make them more ‘opened’ than Wan Chai where I work.

Special question: Your mantra:

Be yourself and be confident and you will be the most charming person.
