In March, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 and the exceptional situation, we decided to enjoy a long weekend and go for a Staycation to one of the hotel of the Marriott group: the Ritz-Carton! 

We were very luck to be upgraded to one of the best suites of the hotel with a breathtaking view! But first, was surprised us the most was a delicate attention: the hotel staff has searched for photos of my social media and hung them onto the window overhanging the bay! What a wonderful attention!

The view is exceptional and I learned during our stay that the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong claimed it was the highest hotel in the world – we were perched at more than 480m above the level of the sea! In order to look for your home on HK island or spy on other buildings, the room is equipped with a telescope!

What to say about the swimming pool…. a sleek and elegant pool with a giant screen displaying dreaming pictures and videos of Asia and Hong Kong. The outside jacuzzi is located at the same level, on the 116/F, at 490 meters above the sea… For those who don’t feel comfortable with heights, please close your eyes!

Because spending a long time at the swimming pool makes you hungry, we went for the afternoon tea at the Lounge & Bar. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and so we couldn’t admire the view while enjoying the delicacies. But we made an housewarming “apero” with the family, as it has become the new trend and it is so much fun!

We were also lucky to get some snacks from the room service and then we had dinner in the room as the Italian restaurant was unfortunately closed at that time.

To end the weekend in perfection, we went for a great massage which was supposed to boost our immune system. The treatment room and bathrooms were so beautiful, and again, the view could have been incredible! The service was always perfect and all the staff was super polite. An exceptional getaway in a no-less exceptional place!
